5 Fun Outdoor Workout Ideas for Curvy Athletes in Spring

It’s springtime and that means it’s time to go outdoors. It is good for the body and soul to be outdoors soaking up fresh air and sunshine. As a Curvy Fit Athlete, you want to continually be better than you were. Exercising in the elements will keep you at the top of your game. I’ve put together a list of 5 Fun Ideas to get you outdoors and working out.

#1 Beach

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that the Beach is one of my favorite places to be. Of course being a Floridian makes venturing to the beach a go to yearround. So what can you do at the beach?

  • Training

  • Running

  • Swimming

  • Volleyball

  • Frisbee throwing

There’s no limit to the activities you can do at the beach. The sand and the water are perfect to use for the best overall workouts. They allow for the least amount of impact on the body while still giving the right amount of resistance that strengthens the curvy body.

#2 Running

Alright curvy healthy athletes come through on that curvy run. I want you to really challenge your curves now that you are outdoors and can mix it up in so many ways. To get the most from your runs,

  • vary the surfaces (sand, grass, pavement, clay, etc) you use

  • vary the locations

  • increase the distance

  • add hills into your routines

#3 Kickball

Ok this can be said for any of the ball sports, but kickball is one of my favorites. LOL! So get you a team of other curvy fit athletes and schedule a game or participate in a tournament. Nothing like a lil competition to get you curvy fit and having fun. Shoot while you’re at it, make sure you flex on ‘em. You’ve been training all year so go all out sis.

#4 Biking

I enjoy biking. If you don’t have a bike, you can purchase one or rent one for the day. There are stations in most cities especially around downtown areas or popular parks that allow you to pay to ride. Put on your cute curvy gear and ride out “like Bronco Billy” (insider for the 90s babies lol). Now if you decide to do this be mindful and use a seat that is comfortable for you. Biking allows you to take in fresh air and gives you a change in scenery. If you don’t want to bike alone, there are local biking clubs you can join or just invite your curvy friends and family in your adventure.

#5 Hiking

Yes….curvy women do hike! Shout out to those who take hikes! I’m not in a geographical area that offers a lot of places to hike. However, if you are fortunate to have mountainous areas and hilly terrain, take full advantage of it. With hiking like other terrain, it can be challenging so do what you can do and add on paths that offer more versatility as you get stronger. I recommend it because you get to activate your curves and get a full body workout. Due to the nature of the path it can really incorporate smaller muscle groups as well which sometimes can be neglected. So I encourage you to get yo hike on!

So comment and let me know which one(s) you will be getting into this Spring.
